Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Telling Her 4-Year-Old Son About Police Brutality
Kandi Burruss talked to her young ones about police brutality and racial inequality and she shared what she told them and how they reacted while on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The reality TV star opened up about raising black kids in the States and got emotional while sharing how she told her 4-year-old in particular about police brutality.
The worried mother told the host during the virtual interview that ‘My son Ace, who’s 4, he was a policeman on career day. So when my husband Todd was trying to explain what was going on and why everyone was so upset and what has been happening with the police, Ace was so confused. He was like, ‘So, the police are the bad guys?’’
The Real Housewives of Atlanta celeb told Cohen that while he can totally empathize as an ally and a father, he can never truly understand how the parents of black kids feel.
At this point, she was in tears as she stated: ‘Now isn’t it crazy to have to explain that to a four year old? For you to be black and to have to worry about police being the bad guys. That is an emotional thing for me. And Andy, I know that you care about us, but you do not have to think about that. You know what I’m saying? That is something we have to think about for our sons.’
In the meantime, protests against police brutality and racism in America have been going on in all 50 states but also all over the globe!
The outrage was sparked after yet another black man, George Floyd, was killed by a police officer.

The fired and now arrested cop, who used to work with Floyd, kneeled on his neck for almost nine minutes, well after he had become unresponsive.
